Space-time

Albert Einstein has said that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time. Events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another.

"The views of space and time which I wish to lay before you have sprung from the soil of experimental physics, and therein lies their strength. They are radical. Henceforth, space by itself, and time by itself, are doomed to fade away into mere shadows, and only a kind of union of the two will preserve an independent reality."  – Albert Einstein

This sight specific interactive installation is Arduino operated. It is programmed to operate randomly so the viewer would never have the same acoustic experience. The viewer is invited to walk along the long corridor for an always unique sound-surround experience of ten recordings of ticking cuckoo clocks, which overlap their rhythms. Each viewer in the group would also have a unique from others experience due to his/her position in space, following the logics of the theory.

Cuckoo clocks also play another role: they represent "time"- the 4th dimension in a 3-dimensional space, taking in concideration Einstein's mathematics of space-time.

To re-activate this installation one needs to cast a shadow over the sensor.
