My Secret World II. Watercolor on paper. 70”x52”
Throughout my artistic practice, nature has been my touchstone and refuge. I am drawn to misty, rainy, fog-covered, and snowy landscapes—places where the atmosphere softens the world and quiets the mind. Being immersed in these conditions gives me a deep sense of peace and coziness, as if the landscape itself embraces me.
I work primarily in large-scale watercolor, a medium that feels inseparable from the water present in the atmosphere I depict. The fluidity of watercolor mirrors rain, fog, melting snow, and drifting moisture in the air. Through a multi-layered painting process, I gradually build depth, light, and atmosphere, allowing forms to emerge slowly, much like a landscape revealing itself through weather.
Painting becomes a meditative act—one of deep relaxation and attentiveness—where emotion and environment merge. Through these works, I hope to transfer that sense of calm and quiet presence to the viewer, inviting you to slow down, step inside the scene, and take a walk with me through the painting.
After taking a long four-year break to bring new life into this world, I am finally finding my way back to the art studio. My children follow along and love to “help” me paint, so consider it a special touch if you happen to discover tiny fingerprints in my work.
